Giving back is at the heart of everything we do, both as an organization and in our employee culture. For example, the PGA TOUR is a founding partner of The First Tee, which provides young people with educational programs that build character, instill life-enhancing values and promote healthy choices. The PGA TOUR Wives Association sponsors volunteer service projects and fundraising initiatives that impact local communities. And Birdies for the Brave, a PGA TOUR Charities program, provides critical programs and services to meet the specialized needs of wounded warriors as well as military families.
All PGA TOUR tournaments are structured to return their profits to charity. Some 3,000 charities have received more than $2 billion from TOUR events and players, touching millions of lives. The types of organizations we support include education and youth development; health and human services; community services; and groups that help grow the game of golf.
The TOUR’s charitable commitment is shared by individual employees, who are enthusiastic supporters of the communities where we live, work and play. Among the many causes employees support locally are the Bike MS: PGA TOUR Cycle to the Shore, which raises money for the North Florida Chapter of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society; HabiJax Habitat for Humanity projects; and Big Brothers/Big Sisters of North Florida.
Among the many national charities that have benefitted from PGA TOUR donations are:
